Junior Achievement-Western Massachusetts

enTEENpreneur Challenge (TEST)

Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts
1500 Main Street, Suite 217
Springfield, MA 01115

Tuesday, March 10, 2015 4:00 AM - 5:00 AM

The enTEENpreneur challenge is, essentially, a pitch contest similar in format to Shark Tank, a reality TV show about entrepreneurship. JAWM has various sponsoring organizations that provide members of the judging panel, and students have 2 minutes to convince the panel to fund their company. The judging panel determines 1st, 2nd and 3rd place by numerical score based on the rubric that can also be found in this packet and among the email attachments. The top three teams will receive cash prizes in the following amounts:

1st place wins $500 ($100 per person, assuming a team of 5 students)
2nd place wins $350 ($75 per person, assuming a team of 5 students)
3rd place wins $250 ($50 per person, assuming a team of 5 students)
Though students do not need a ready-for-sale product to participate in the challenge, those students who opt to create a product are eligible for extra awards. Each student on a Team awarded for the Best Trade Booth or Most Innovative Product will receive a personal trophy to commend their achievement. In addition, the winning Student Teams that have a ready-for-sale product to showcase will be eligible to submit their plan to the JA USA National Student Leadership Summit slated to take place in Washington DC in mid-June of 2015. Fifteen finalists from around the country will be selected to attend the Summit. If a Western Massachusetts Student Team is selected for the Summit, JAWM will help prepare the team for competition.
